I'm planning to build a few websites with: * Domain from Squarespace * Managed hosting on Cloudways * CDN/security through Cloudflare (free plan) Cloudways also offers Cloudflare Enterprise as a monthly add-on and I'm open to considering that, but I've heard that the free plan for Cloudflare is mo…
In [another post](https://www.reddit.com/r/HostingReport/comments/1o51lj4/blockchainai_sold_for_405k_via_expired_domain/), I talked about how OnlyDomains failed to process the auto-renewal for the domain blockchain.ai, which led to the registrant filing a lawsuit after his domain was sold in a NameC…
Hetzner is one of the top go-to cloud/VPS providers in Europe, but they also offer shared web hosting at a low price. The features seem decent. They use a control panel called konsoleH, which I've never used, but it seems to have fewer tools and doesn't look as neat as cPanel. I've heard from othe…
Hi Guys, Helping a friend out with a website build. Its a simple website showcasing his work over the last 8-9 months of being laid off from his job. Added Cloudflare Name servers to domain. Issue 1: After installing WP perfectly, visiting the domain kept on throwing the following error. …

Hey everyone. I’m helping a small nonprofit manage their website right now and I’m thinking about recommending Wordfence for security. Do you think the free version is enough or is it worth going for the paid plan? The site’s hosted on bluehost if that matters. It’s a small site, about 15 pages wi…
Hi! I'm not sure what Hosting provider to go with - watched several Youtube videos but the information on here indicates that a lot of companies get recommended on YT purely because of affiliate $$$. I'm creating a Wordpress website myself - with minimal knowledge - for my small business which has…
I've been using Blue Host for over a decade and am tired of constantly getting charged more for features that used to be free. Time to move on. Was looking at one that seemed to be cheaper and offered what I want so wanted to ask advice about it. Is the one listed in my title any good? I looked at …

I've been having issues with my @ mydomain email for a long time. The Bluehost forwarders would send messages days, weeks, late to the gmail inbox I use or not at all. After several times tech support claimed to fix it and it worked better for 4-6 months then happened again, I just switched to POP…

Hi, I have multiple shared-hosting accounts and some are on NameCheap's shared hosting. Their SSL policy for new domains is 1-year free PositiveSSL , then you have to pay to renew it. Alternatively you can manually install Let's Encrypt SSLs but also you have to manually renew it every three months …

We typically build our headless sites with Vercel hosting the frontend. We have investigated WP Engine's Atlas but have gotten the sense that it is not as mature or feature-rich as Vercel. If you have experience with Atlas, we'd be very interested in your impressions. We have a lot of history and a…

VERIFIED PLATFORM RATINGS
Real star ratings and review counts from Trustpilot and G2, not a language guess on a scraped post. Separate from the social feed above.
UNFILTERED SOCIAL PROOF
Most hosting review sites only show curated testimonials. We do the opposite, we scan public social media daily for real, unfiltered opinions about hosting companies. Every mention gets classified and added to the feed.

We search X, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok and forums daily for hosting mentions
Each mention is tagged as Good, Bad, or Mixed based on language analysis
Mentions are matched to host profiles in our 30,000+ company directory

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Social Noise?
Social Noise is our real-time feed of what people are publicly saying about web hosting companies across X (Twitter), Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, and other social platforms. We surface genuine user opinions, the good, the bad, and the ugly, so you can see unfiltered feedback before choosing a host.
How do you collect these mentions?
We use automated search tools to monitor social media platforms for posts mentioning hosting companies in our directory. Each mention is classified by sentiment (good, bad, or mixed) and linked back to the original post and the host's profile on Hostlist.
How is sentiment determined?
Each mention is read for its overall meaning, not just for negative or positive keywords, and classified as Good (a positive experience or recommendation, even one that mentions a past problem but concludes satisfied), Bad (a genuine complaint or negative experience), or Mixed/Ugly (a nuanced take with real pros and cons). Posts from a host's own account, and promotional or affiliate copy, are excluded entirely rather than scored.
How often is Social Noise updated?
Social Noise is refreshed daily. We scan for new mentions across all monitored platforms every 24 hours and add them to the feed. The page itself revalidates every 2 minutes to show the latest data.
Can I filter by platform or sentiment?
Yes. Use the filter pills at the top to narrow by platform (X, Instagram, TikTok, Other) or sentiment (Good, Bad, Mixed). Filters can be combined to see, for example, only negative mentions on X.
