I’ve been with bluehost for 15 years but lately their support and everything has gone downhill. My VPS SQL server was constantly getting disconnected and they couldn’t resolve the issue. I am considering dreamhost as I only manage my Wordpress site and I need a managed VPS. Any advice? Recommendatio…

My organization has a WordPress site hosted on Hostinger. It’s a relatively new site—we migrated and updated it about a month ago from SiteGround. The site is built with Elementor. Lately, we’ve been experiencing intermittent 403 errors. They occur every few days, lasting anywhere from 5 to 15 minut…
Hostinger is the best and the worst web host in the world! There are countless reviews on both ends, and I've read many. I've also used Hostinger myself. I actually consider it one of the decent options among the big players in the industry. It's cheap, but you get what you pay for. At the least fo…

We have a b2b manufacturing site with lots of pdf resources that change frequently throughout the day, and lots of minor spec details on product pages change on the fly. We host at Cloudways and use their Enterprise Cloudflare add-on and it's fine for the most part but it gives you very little …
We’ve been battling a strange security issue for months across different hosting providers (A2 → Hostinger). Somehow, our wp-config.php keeps getting modified and the DB credentials are swapped out with another set of database details that don’t belong to us. What we’ve tried so far: • Made wp-con…
I have been using GoDaddy since 2006, and my first time registering a domain name from them was $6, now the yearly costs went up to $20. I registered a new domain name for a friend with Cloudflare recently, and it was only $10, so it had me wondering if transferring the registrar to Cloudflare for…
Hi All, Helping a friend with a new business and they already had a domain with Crazy Domains setup. They then wanted email hosting and preferred the all one bill and the cost of the emails with them as well after I presented other options like Google Workspace, office 365 etc. They just wanted ema…

Managed hosting for WordPress can mean different things. Sometimes it's just regular shared hosting rebranded for marketing purposes, and sometimes it's a bit/lot better than your average shared hosting, especially in terms of tech support. I've read countless reviews and tried many providers and I…

Hello all! Currently running into a bit of confusion and don't know how to proceed. I am making a website using LocalWP for a small business, it has Contact Form 7 requiring email address response, is using a theme, Cloudflare reCAPTCHA, has a Google Maps widget to show location for the business a…
I just saw a post about OVH offering super cheap VPS. I checked it out myself and saw some insane specs for pretty cheap. Most are sold out but there are some more highly speced machines (still extremely cheap) in the U.S. (west). I’ve heard of OVH but that’s where my knowledge ends. It includes bac…
I'm looking for a domain I can buy and host a website on, and have email addresses from. I'd rather something on the cheaper end, as it's just for personal use / somewhere to put my hobbies - it's not a business thing. I am quite clueless as to all the jargon, but I'm not particularly interested in…
I have been trying to get off Liquid Web for years since their customer service has gone down the toilet but continually struggle to find another host that has high quality customer support for their managed hosting and isn't ridiculously expensive. I have searched high and low and really struggle t…
Good afternoon everyone! I'm working at a company and wearing many different hats, one of which is now including our Wordpress sites. The issue we're facing is seemingly a lot of spam submissions on forms found on our websites, they are HubSpot forms embed on the sites but the reCaptcha doesn'…
If your site “feels slow,” you’re not imagining it. Speed affects conversions, SEO, and bounce rate, and it is easier to fix than most people think. This post is a practical playbook you can follow without learning server wizardry. Use it as a checklist, share it with clients, or keep it handy for y…
I'm looking to move away from shared hosting and need help choosing a VPS provider. I've done some research and narrowed it down to a few options, but I'd love to get unbiased opinions from people with real experience. **My Current Workload & Needs:** * **Websites:** 3 WordPress sites (2 blogs, 1 …
**Hello everyone,** I’m currently renting a shared hosting package from BKhost. Recently, I noticed that the hosting system automatically generates a `.htaccess` file in `public_html` (with a default rewrite to `index.php`) and also auto-creates an `index.php` file. I tried deleting or overwriting …
I've been with InMotion Hosting for years, and now I'm experiencing a range of issues. All my domains have been shut down now, as they say they're infected. This happened to me once last year, and they insisted I pay for additional cybersecurity protection. Which I did. But now that extra service…

Hi everyone, In the wake of a recent problem with high CPU usage, my host suggested installing Heartbeat Control, a plugin by WP Rocket. I'm open to trying that, but the plugin hasn't been updated by the developer over the last two years. Does anyone here have a recommendation for a more actively…

I was hoping to get a little guidance on if my plan will work to move my site off of Wix. I have a news and reviews website, but also item pages too with descriptions and Amazon links. I plan on potentially building my website again on a local server through WordPress, making improvements too, as W…
I’ve been deep in image performance work lately and wanted to share a concise, **non-promotional** field guide for getting solid gains on WordPress sites. Hoping this can be useful, and I’d love to hear what other folks are doing. # 1) Choose sensible formats (don’t overthink it) * **JPEG** for ph…
VERIFIED PLATFORM RATINGS
Real star ratings and review counts from Trustpilot and G2, not a language guess on a scraped post. Separate from the social feed above.
UNFILTERED SOCIAL PROOF
Most hosting review sites only show curated testimonials. We do the opposite, we scan public social media daily for real, unfiltered opinions about hosting companies. Every mention gets classified and added to the feed.
When you see a host mentioned, click their name to visit their full profile on Hostlist, including HRI, plans, and verified reviews.
We search X, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok and forums daily for hosting mentions
Each mention is tagged as Good, Bad, or Mixed based on language analysis
Mentions are matched to host profiles in our 30,000+ company directory

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Social Noise?
Social Noise is our real-time feed of what people are publicly saying about web hosting companies across X (Twitter), Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, and other social platforms. We surface genuine user opinions, the good, the bad, and the ugly, so you can see unfiltered feedback before choosing a host.
How do you collect these mentions?
We use automated search tools to monitor social media platforms for posts mentioning hosting companies in our directory. Each mention is classified by sentiment (good, bad, or mixed) and linked back to the original post and the host's profile on Hostlist.
How is sentiment determined?
Each mention is read for its overall meaning, not just for negative or positive keywords, and classified as Good (a positive experience or recommendation, even one that mentions a past problem but concludes satisfied), Bad (a genuine complaint or negative experience), or Mixed/Ugly (a nuanced take with real pros and cons). Posts from a host's own account, and promotional or affiliate copy, are excluded entirely rather than scored.
How often is Social Noise updated?
Social Noise is refreshed daily. We scan for new mentions across all monitored platforms every 24 hours and add them to the feed. The page itself revalidates every 2 minutes to show the latest data.
Can I filter by platform or sentiment?
Yes. Use the filter pills at the top to narrow by platform (X, Instagram, TikTok, Other) or sentiment (Good, Bad, Mixed). Filters can be combined to see, for example, only negative mentions on X.
