THE HOT LIST

Hosting market movers: who earned new trust scores this week, and every data change behind the rankings.

The Hot List tracks every change across 30,000+ hosting companies in the HostList directory. Each row is one logged change: which host, which field, the old and new values, and the source, whether that is Trustpilot, G2, Google, Reddit, a domain registry, a verified host, or editorial review. Nothing here can be bought; the feed is the raw input to HRI.

HOT LIST FAQ

What is the HostList Hot List?

The Hot List is a live feed of every data change across the HostList directory of 30,000+ web hosting companies, plus a weekly spotlight on hosts that just earned strong external trust scores. Each entry records which host changed, which field, the old and new values, the data source, and a timestamp.

How does HostList detect hosting company changes?

An automated enrichment pipeline continuously checks public sources: Trustpilot, G2, and Google review scores, Reddit mentions, Google Business profiles, and WHOIS/RDAP domain registries. Verified host claims and editorial curation add further updates. Every change is logged to the feed with its source, nothing is entered silently.

What does a new trust signal mean?

A new trust signal means the pipeline captured a strong external review score, 4.0 or higher on Trustpilot, G2, or Google, for a host that previously had none on record. Trust signals feed the Trust component of HRI, the 0 to 100 algorithmic score used to rank every host on HostList.

Can hosting companies pay to appear on the Hot List?

No. The Hot List is generated entirely from logged data changes. Hosts cannot pay to be featured, and the weekly spotlight is ordered by review score and HRI, both of which are computed from public data. The full methodology is published at hostlist.io/hri.
