TOP 20 HOSTS
The highest-scoring hosting companies in the directory. Ranked by HostScore™ — no paid placements, ever.
HOW WE RANK
Unlike most hosting directories where rankings are determined by affiliate commissions, Hostlist uses HostScore™ — a transparent, algorithmic rating that evaluates every company on the same criteria.
In 2025, hosting metrics that matter include speed, uptime reliability, customer support quality, and security posture. HostScore captures these through real review data from Google, verified business signals, and profile freshness — not paid placements.
Google reviews, verification status, years in business

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How are these hosting rankings determined?
Rankings are determined by HostScore™, our independent algorithmic rating that scores hosting companies from 0 to 100. It combines four weighted signals: Trust (Google reviews, verification status, years in business), Freshness (recent profile updates, active data), Completeness (how much profile data is available), and Performance (uptime, speed metrics where available). No hosting company can pay to influence their ranking.
How often are rankings updated?
HostScore rankings are recalculated continuously as new data comes in. Google review scores are refreshed regularly, profile completeness is checked when hosts update their information, and freshness decays naturally over time. The rankings page revalidates every hour to reflect the latest scores.
Can hosting companies pay to be ranked higher?
No. Hostlist has zero paid placements, zero sponsored rankings, and zero affiliate bias in rankings. Every position is earned through data. This is what makes us different from virtually every other hosting directory and review site, where rankings are influenced by commission payments.
What is the difference between Web Hosting, Tech + Hosting, and Agencies?
Web Hosting (Pure Host) companies are dedicated hosting providers where hosting is their primary business. Tech + Hosting companies are technology firms that offer hosting as a core service alongside other products. Agencies are web design and development firms that provide hosting to their clients. Each segment is ranked separately so you can compare like-for-like.
Why might a well-known host rank lower than expected?
HostScore measures data quality, trust signals, and freshness — not brand awareness or market share. A large provider might rank lower if their Google reviews are poor, their profile data is incomplete, or their information hasn't been updated recently. Conversely, smaller hosts with excellent reviews and complete profiles can rank surprisingly high.
