By accessing or using HOSTLIST.IO (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
HOSTLIST.IO is an independent web hosting directory and comparison platform. We aggregate publicly available data about web hosting companies, including pricing information, performance metrics, company details, and user reviews, to help consumers make informed decisions. The Service includes the hosting directory, HRI™ ratings, comparison tools, deal listings, and related features.

HRI™ ratings are generated using automated data collection, publicly available performance metrics, and algorithmic analysis. Scores are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee of any hosting provider's services.
HOSTLIST.IO makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of HRI™ ratings. Scores are based on data available at the time of calculation and may not reflect the most current state of a hosting provider's services.
HRI™ ratings, rankings, comparisons, and any editorial verdicts are expressions of opinion based on the data and methodology described, and are not statements of objective fact about any provider. They are provided in good faith and may reasonably differ from conclusions reached by other methodologies.
Hosting companies may request a review of their score through our contact form. We will review all requests in good faith but are under no obligation to change, modify, or remove any score. HRI™ methodology may be updated at any time without prior notice.
The HRI™ methodology specification published at hostlist.io/hri is provided for buyer and host-owner transparency. The full implementation, including but not limited to signal extractor logic, tier classifications, weighting constants, enrichment pipeline configuration, editorial adjustments, and anti-gaming safeguards, is proprietary intellectual property of HOSTLIST.IO and its operators.
No licence is granted to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, reproduce, or create derivative ranking systems based on HRI™ methodology, scores, or rankings. Automated bulk extraction of scores or rankings for competitive cloning, model training, or commercial republication without written permission is prohibited. HRI™ and the HostList directory are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.
The Service may allow users to submit content including reviews, deals, coupon codes, and other information (“User Content”). You are solely responsible for any User Content you submit. By submitting User Content, you grant HOSTLIST.IO a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with the Service.
You represent and warrant that your User Content is accurate, does not infringe on any third-party rights, and does not violate any applicable law. We reserve the right to remove any User Content at our sole discretion without notice.
Reviews and third-party data displayed on the Service reflect the views of their authors and sources, not those of HOSTLIST.IO, and we do not endorse them. Company names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and comparison purposes only, which does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by those companies.
Hosting companies may claim their listing on HOSTLIST.IO to manage their profile information. By claiming a listing, you represent that you are authorised to act on behalf of the hosting company and agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. Misrepresentation of company information may result in the removal of claimed status or the listing itself.
Claiming a listing does not entitle the company to any control over its HRI™ rating or placement in rankings.
HostList does not sell rankings or accept payment for placement in ranked lists. Hosting companies cannot pay to improve HRI or list position. Rankings and HRI™ scores are determined by our algorithmic methodology, not by commissions, sponsorship fees, or partner payouts.
Every “Visit” and deal link points at the provider’s own site. HostList does not run affiliate or referral links, and no hosting company can buy a position or pay to move a score. One legacy exception is still live, and we would rather disclose it than quietly fix it: the current v2.2 Completeness component awards 2 of 100 points for an affiliate link recorded on a profile, and 12 listings still earn it from a stored value dating from before those links were removed from the site. None of those links are served to readers. HRI v3.0 drops the field when the delayed cutover ships, and the stored values are cleared with it. HRI v2.2 remains current until a new effective date is announced in the methodology changelog. Labeled display advertising and sponsor banners, when offered, are kept outside ranked tables. Tool and infrastructure partnerships that support the platform are disclosed where relevant and have no influence on scores or rankings.
Deal and coupon pages may include sponsored featured slots that are always labeled. Coupon codes themselves are informational; HOSTLIST.IO does not guarantee that any code will work at checkout or that advertised savings will apply.
Hosting companies that dispute listing data or scores can email [email protected] (or use the contact form) with the listing URL, the specific error, and supporting evidence. We aim to acknowledge within 5 business days and review within 14 business days. Filing a dispute does not require us to change a score, but we will review good-faith evidence before formal escalation.
Email [email protected] or use our host contact form. Please include: (1) the listing or page URL; (2) the specific statement or score you dispute; (3) evidence supporting the correction; and (4) your name, role, and authority to act for the company.
Before filing formal legal proceedings about listing data, scores, or editorial opinion on the Service, you agree to give HOSTLIST.IO this written notice and a reasonable opportunity (at least 14 business days after we acknowledge receipt) to investigate and, where appropriate, correct factual errors. This cure period does not waive any other rights or remedies available under applicable law, and does not require HOSTLIST.IO to alter HRI™ scores or ranking order.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HOSTLIST.IO and its operators, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
HOSTLIST.IO is not liable for any business decisions made based on our ratings, scores, reviews, or any other information provided through the Service. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HOSTLIST.IO, its operators, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your User Content; or (d) your violation of any rights of another party.
Listed hosting companies agree to indemnify HOSTLIST.IO against any claims arising from inaccuracies in their self-reported data or from disputes with their customers that reference information on the Service.
HOSTLIST.IO respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to [email protected] (subject line: “DMCA Takedown”) or through our contact form, containing:
We will review all valid takedown requests and respond within a reasonable timeframe. Counter-notices may be sent to the same address if you believe material was removed in error.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Before pursuing formal legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally through our contact form. We will make every reasonable effort to resolve disputes within 30 days of receipt.
