Hello! After 10+ years with Bluehost, I've finally hit my limit. Performance has been fine, but issues have been steadily increasing, and customer support has become genuinely unhelpful. It's time to move on. **A bit of context:** * I'm based in Australia, though the majority of my readers are i…
G2 is one of the online review platforms I trust since most of the reviews there seem to come from real customers. They announced the winners of their annual Best Software Awards for 2026 a few days ago. In the "[Best Web Hosting Software Products for 2026](https://www.g2.com/best-software-compani…

Hi, I have been getting error messages all over my site whenever I try to set up any Google tools, from my understanding this is because xmlrpc.php is blocked. I have tried deactivating all WP plugins, I turned off a rule blocking it in Cloudflare and it is still blocked. We use a Fasthosts VPS 4 f…
InMotion had an outage that wasn't communicated for hours. Good specs on paper, communication was a fail.
DreamHost, SiteGround, and Liquid Web are the three we recommend most. All have pros; pick by support need.
Flywheel for local dev + staging + production. One workflow. No more "works on my machine" for WP.
What does it take for a web hosting company to get listed on the official WordPress.org hosting page? Apparently, it all comes down to how much they're willing to pay (directly or indirectly via contributions and sponsorships) -- it's negotiable! This is something I've always known, and it has been…

Hey people, I'm in the EU and I'm looking at changing my domain and hosting, cause the Bulgarian company that I used just decided to double the prices due to Bulgaria joining the EU(kinda off topic but \* hit the fan). I'm looking at places like Namecheap or Porkbun, but I hear a lot of controvers…
Bluehost review: cheap intro price then it doubles. Had to beg for a refund. Do your research first.
A2 Hosting: speed is good, but their billing and "turbo" upsell feel sketchy. Support was hit or miss.
My sister owned a domain which was last renewed for 2 years in August of 2025. She has the receipts. This wasn't her only domain but was definitely an important one which has been publicized as part of a very public festival she promotes every year. She noticed yesterday that the domain was no lo…
Left Hostinger after repeated downtime. Cheap is cheap. Switched to SiteGround and stability is way better.
OVH is cheap and powerful but good luck getting help when something breaks. Documentation is a maze.

Switched from GoDaddy to literally anything else. Best decision we made. So many hidden fees before.
A few days ago I posted here about a stubborn piece of malware on my server that kept regenerating no matter what I deleted. A lot of you pointed out that hosting 15 sites under a single cPanel account was a major mistake. You were right. Here’s what I’ve done since: First, I restored a backup fr…
I had originally asked this a year ago, but my timing was way off compared to my current hosting renewal date, so I'm re-asking now that I think I have time: I'm currently hosting my personal domain at [pair.com](http://pair.com), I've been with them, mostly, for about 25 years. I don't have any re…

I see those ads for Liquid Web every time I log in here and I'd like to say be VERY CAREFUL when signing up with them. I was on them for years, but when I moved to a new cheaper host, and when I tried to cancel my account they said I owed them $1700 because I had a "discounted contract" with them wh…
For context, I'm looking for a specific phrase along with the .ngo domain. This is available on bigger brokers e.g. GoDaddy but sadly not Zume. I've heard and read some not so good things about GoDaddy so wondering if there's a better option to purchase from and then switch over the Zume for ongoing…
Long story short, you've all heard the story, Wix raised my plan price I've had for years by 150% just 2 weeks before the end of the billing cycle, yadda yadda (and yes, I've turned off auto-renew and locked that card for the time being so they can't still charge me until the plan lapses, which I've…
I recently optimized a WordPress site - cleaned up templates, trimmed database queries, the usual. Then I ran TTFB benchmarks on two different hosts. No cache. Same code. Same theme. **On the old host (LiteSpeed shared):** - Before optimization: avg 2.90s - After optimization: avg 2.61s - 10% bett…

UNFILTERED SOCIAL PROOF
Most hosting review sites only show curated testimonials. We do the opposite, we scan public social media daily for real, unfiltered opinions about hosting companies. Every mention gets classified and added to the feed.
When you see a host mentioned, click their name to visit their full profile on Hostlist, including HRI, plans, and verified reviews.
We search X, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok and forums daily for hosting mentions
Each mention is tagged as Good, Bad, or Mixed based on language analysis
Mentions are matched to host profiles in our 30,000+ company directory

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Social Noise?
Social Noise is our real-time feed of what people are publicly saying about web hosting companies across X (Twitter), Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, and other social platforms. We surface genuine user opinions, the good, the bad, and the ugly, so you can see unfiltered feedback before choosing a host.
How do you collect these mentions?
We use automated search tools to monitor social media platforms for posts mentioning hosting companies in our directory. Each mention is classified by sentiment (good, bad, or mixed) and linked back to the original post and the host's profile on Hostlist.
How is sentiment determined?
Each mention is read for its overall meaning, not just for negative or positive keywords, and classified as Good (a positive experience or recommendation, even one that mentions a past problem but concludes satisfied), Bad (a genuine complaint or negative experience), or Mixed/Ugly (a nuanced take with real pros and cons). Posts from a host's own account, and promotional or affiliate copy, are excluded entirely rather than scored.
How often is Social Noise updated?
Social Noise is refreshed daily. We scan for new mentions across all monitored platforms every 24 hours and add them to the feed. The page itself revalidates every 2 minutes to show the latest data.
Can I filter by platform or sentiment?
Yes. Use the filter pills at the top to narrow by platform (X, Instagram, TikTok, Other) or sentiment (Good, Bad, Mixed). Filters can be combined to see, for example, only negative mentions on X.
