IP ADDRESS
LOOKUP
Enter an IP address, or a domain to resolve first, and see where it is, who runs it, and which network it belongs to: geographic location, ISP, ASN, reverse DNS, and the hosting provider that owns the address. Leave it blank and we show your own IP first.
What is an IP Address Lookup?
An IP address lookup is a free tool that shows where an IP address is and who runs it: its geographic location, ISP, network (ASN) and reverse DNS, plus the hosting provider that owns the address block. Enter a domain and it resolves first; leave it blank to see your own public IP.
How does an IP Address Lookup work?
- 01We geolocate the IP and read the network (ASN) that owns it.
- 02A domain is resolved to its IP before lookup; reverse DNS is included.
- 03If the owning network is a host we track, we link to its HRI profile.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is IP geolocation?
IP location is reliable at the country level and usually accurate to the region or city, but it reflects where the network registers the address, not a precise street location. For a hosting IP, the location is the data centre or the provider’s registration, which can differ from where the company is based.
Why does an IP show a hosting company instead of a person?
Most public-facing IPs belong to a hosting provider, CDN or ISP, not an individual. The ASN (Autonomous System Number) identifies the network that owns the address block. When that network is a hosting provider we index, we link straight to its profile with its independent HRI score.
What is my IP address?
Leave the field blank and run the tool: we show the public IP your connection presents to the internet, along with its ISP and location. This is the address websites and services see, which may be your router’s address or your ISP’s, not the private address on your local network.
