- Unfortunately I have noticed a big difference. We have been with A2 for maybe 10 years and they were always amazing. Now, I have been holding for over 2 hours to talk with a supervisor about the spam filters which keep engaging causing me to miss important business emails. The beauty of A2 was the
and find the difference to be extreme to say the least. Their speed is even better than what I was receiving on my old A2 hosting plans. I can't speak for their service response yet as I have not required it. My main gripe with Siteground is their quirky control panel (I've been using cPanel since 2
- I'm not sure if the CPU is shared on DO, maybe you should compare the higher prices of the "Dedicated vCPU" products. But yeah, Hetzner always was very cheap, which also attracted lots of spammers. You wouldn't want to host a mailserver there, some vendors blocked the whole Hetzner IP range. - dig
- Totally honest Digital Ocean is only cheaper if you pay full price and/or don't optimize your AWS usage. With AWS you can do things that drastically drop your costs like for example doing a 1 year commitment to save 40% or 3 year to save around 60% on average of your instance costs .You can do thi
- The amount of money the big three have invested is absolutely massive. AWS probably has as many unique offerings as Digital Ocean has employees. It's tough to compete with that, and the big three are very enticing because of it. [...] - Digital Ocean is a great option. But it’s a matter of cost ma
- I have used them all (AWS, GCP, Azure, DO, Linode, Oracle). Hetzner has been by far the best for update in terms of VPS availability. Been rocking a solid 100% uptime for over 5 years on one of my nodes. DO was also 100% uptime but I only used them for 2-3 months tops. Only the other week did I ha

- Rocket.net is my favorite - Why don't you use your own VPS server! [...] - I hosted with SG for years, moved to Kinsta in 2018 and have been with them since, best decision. It isn't cheap, but it works really well, it is reliable and the support actually works. Handles peaks of traffic really well
Their speed is blazing fast and they always respond INSTANTLY for chat support which is unheard of. their control/admin panel is pretty limited
Is anyone else having email sending and receiving problems with Siteground? A few weeks back they apologized and had a notice for a day or two on the login page that email was having issues. Recently I have not been receiving all my emails and emails I send can take over an hour to deliver. One emai
- You’re not crazy. SiteGround support used to be great, but the “support only after login” model has clearly resulted is such frustrating incidents. Billing or verification issues are exactly when someone need a human, and being locked out because you didn't complete the account set-up is just a ba
you'll wake up and find every site you manage has gone down with almost no way to get in touch with their support [...] - This is not Siteground fault, but the website management's, if your website is a threat to their server, they will remove everything including the malware, you should scan your w
on your end. We will remove the connections limitation once the number of connections is back to normal. From our experience, that usually takes about 24 hours. We believe there are 2 possible explanations for the increased number of simultaneous connections: a DOS attack (Denial of Service attack)

If you've never used WordPress before and you'll need to actually call someone for help, Bluehost's phone support is a meaningful advantage. If you're comfortable troubleshooting via chat or you've used WordPress before, Hostinger gets you a faster site for less money. For most basic WordPress sites
Bluehost offers email/help desk, FAQ/forum, a knowledge base, phone support, 24/7 live representatives, and chat. Users often describe support as prompt, available, and able to resolve straightforward issues in one interaction, but experiences are inconsistent, with reports of long waits, escalation
I wouldn't recommend this webhosting service to anyone. Customer service is clueless and they will leave you hanging for hours waiting for even a response.

some process that lacks access to these very basic insights, which screams mismanagement to me. I'm not exactly a huge customer, but between my personal and business sites, I plowed $45k into CF last year, and will spend not another penny on them this year, or ever again. - Yea there is Cloudflare caches is directly on every edge server they have. If you do CF in front of GitHub it will have a slow TTFB. Clouflare also supports Hugo and Next.js. Also Cloudflare have Cloudflare workers which can be used to get most of your site. But minor differences so may not worth
Cloudflare is having issues again today and it feels like a repeat of what happened two weeks ago. Same pattern. Perplexity stalls, Claude stalls, auth flows stop responding, and random internal tools start throwing cryptic errors until someone checks the status page. Two outages in this short a win

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Social Noise?
Social Noise is our real-time feed of what people are publicly saying about web hosting companies across X (Twitter), Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, and other social platforms. We surface genuine user opinions, the good, the bad, and the ugly, so you can see unfiltered feedback before choosing a host.
How do you collect these mentions?
We use automated search tools to monitor social media platforms for posts mentioning hosting companies in our directory. Each mention is classified by sentiment (good, bad, or mixed) and linked back to the original post and the host's profile on Hostlist.
How is sentiment determined?
Each mention is read for its overall meaning, not just for negative or positive keywords, and classified as Good (a positive experience or recommendation, even one that mentions a past problem but concludes satisfied), Bad (a genuine complaint or negative experience), or Mixed/Ugly (a nuanced take with real pros and cons). Posts from a host's own account, and promotional or affiliate copy, are excluded entirely rather than scored.
How often is Social Noise updated?
Social Noise is refreshed daily. We scan for new mentions across all monitored platforms every 24 hours and add them to the feed. The page itself revalidates every 2 minutes to show the latest data.
Can I filter by platform or sentiment?
Yes. Use the filter pills at the top to narrow by platform (X, Instagram, TikTok, Other) or sentiment (Good, Bad, Mixed). Filters can be combined to see, for example, only negative mentions on X.
