December 21, 2025 - A2 used to have amazing support but went to shit after the acquisition, strong recommendation to avoid. ... I had a very similar experience after moving from a smaller but stable host. On paper everything sounded great, but in practice support was the biggest disappointment.

For the money OVH's dedicated servers and cloud instances are pretty good (we've only had 4-5 incidents over a 12 year period) .....but support is currently non-existent. Even trying to reach their sales guys is almost impossible, they are seriously lacking resource across customer facing teams. Mar

Support is quick and uptime is fine, but as with any reseller host, it really comes down to how it fits your specific needs.
October 15, 2024 - When hosting over 150 websites, this obviously creates a huge workload to update domain records. They seem to make arbitrary decisions that have a massive impact on us and our customers without any notification or prior warning. This is unacceptable. If we can't rely on them to of

February 26, 2023 - shared hosting is fine. Hostwinds IS NOT. JUST AN AWFUL COMPANY. DO NOT USE THESE FOLKS.
I like how easy it is to set up a load balancer between two of my servers. ... Unfortunately, Hostwinds does not have any server in my area, that means i have to use a server located far away from me.
October 18, 2020 - holy crap thank you! this was so insightful and touched on things i didnt even know existed. thanks so much dude this was so helpful ... If you want cPanel and don't know much about linux systems administration, then you should go with a managed provider. HostWinds is alright and
May 17, 2024 - We are moving from one dedicated server to another. Inmotion to Hostwinds. Hostwinds did the file transfer and any imported cpanel accounts. I checked everything out. It looks good but the entries in Dynamic DNS are from Inmotion with records and IPs belonging to the old host.

I’m not a fan of their service but some of our clients use them and anytime their servers have had issues
GoDaddy is slow and horrible. They're intro rates are ridiculous right now. My hosting service is up for renewal and it's like $400 for the year
I don't recommend GoDaddy's hosting because of the limited resources (especially RAM and disk I/O) and the upselling.
Quality varies a lot between communities. Moderation can feel inconsistent, and it’s easy to run into spam or low-effort posts. The interface and discovery tools also feel dated compared to newer platforms Jedi Renee Lee #### What needs improvement Henry Cooper #### What's great [...] QingYang Feng

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Social Noise?
Social Noise is our real-time feed of what people are publicly saying about web hosting companies across X (Twitter), Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, and other social platforms. We surface genuine user opinions, the good, the bad, and the ugly, so you can see unfiltered feedback before choosing a host.
How do you collect these mentions?
We use automated search tools to monitor social media platforms for posts mentioning hosting companies in our directory. Each mention is classified by sentiment (good, bad, or mixed) and linked back to the original post and the host's profile on Hostlist.
How is sentiment determined?
Each mention is read for its overall meaning, not just for negative or positive keywords, and classified as Good (a positive experience or recommendation, even one that mentions a past problem but concludes satisfied), Bad (a genuine complaint or negative experience), or Mixed/Ugly (a nuanced take with real pros and cons). Posts from a host's own account, and promotional or affiliate copy, are excluded entirely rather than scored.
How often is Social Noise updated?
Social Noise is refreshed daily. We scan for new mentions across all monitored platforms every 24 hours and add them to the feed. The page itself revalidates every 2 minutes to show the latest data.
Can I filter by platform or sentiment?
Yes. Use the filter pills at the top to narrow by platform (X, Instagram, TikTok, Other) or sentiment (Good, Bad, Mixed). Filters can be combined to see, for example, only negative mentions on X.
