Here, you take ownership of work that matters, contribute alongside exceptional people, and see the impact you create.</p> <p><strong>The Role</strong></p> <p>The Pantheon Developer Relations Department is offering a full-time position for a Senior Developer Advocate, focused on illustrating professional usage of Next.js on Pantheon</p> <p><strong>What you need to Succeed: <br></strong></p> <p>Developer Relations at Pantheon works to ensure that teams using the web frameworks we support can build the best possible sites on our platform. To support this mission this role will switch between two modes of working:</p> <ul> <li>Communicating outward to the web development community about best practices (and how they are supported by Pantheon).</li> <li>Communicating inward to Pantheon's staff about how we need to evolve to meet market expectations.</li> </ul> <p>While communication skill is the baseline requirement for both of those modes of work, we are looking for candidates who can also execute technical changes. Sometimes it is better for the Developer Advocate to make a sample repo or a pull request themselves. This role is a Senior Developer Advocate for Next.js specifically. The activities of your day-to-day responsibilities should largely be assumed to be performed through the lens of Next.js and/or Node.js implementations.</p> <p>Expected activities include:</p> <ul> <li>Write blog posts that take a clear point of view on technologies integrated with Pantheon.</li> <li>Owns the quality of technical content and helps drive documentation efforts</li> <li>Advise a limited set of individual customers in one-on-one discussions.</li> <li>Record video tutorials and prepare webinars, technical presentations and workshops that demonstrate product usage.</li> <li>Simplify technical information: Translate complex technical concepts into clear and colloquial language suitable for users with varying levels of technical expertise.</li> <li>Actively participate in relevant online and offline community discussions.</li> <li>Speak at conferences about best practices.</li> <li>Oversee open source projects maintained by Pantheon</li> <li>Collaborate with Product Managers to prioritize upcoming features.</li> <li>Provide early feedback on forthcoming features.</li> <li>Leads team discussions and provides guidance and mentorship on areas of subject matter expertise to fellow team members and the broader community.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>What you Bring to the Table<br></strong></p> <ul> <li>5 years of experience working in web development.</li> <li>Significant experience creating technical content for a developer audience.</li> <li>Experience building and maintaining high-quality Next.js sites.</li> <li>Experience authoring and maintaining npm packages.</li> <li>A track record of effective public communication through channels like conference presentations and blog posts.</li> <li>Familiarity with, and perspective upon, the rising and falling trends in web architectures and JavaScript frameworks.</li> <li>Ability to build cross-functional partnerships and relationships.</li> <li>Comfort engaging directly with customers in venues like video calls, Slack, and conference booths.</li> <li>Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Proficiency with the tools of open source collaboration.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>What We Offer: </strong></p> <p> </p> <p>We have all the usual perks and benefits but what we can really offer you is a fantastic work environment powered by an amazing team.<br><br></p> <ul> <li>Industry competitive compensation and equity plan</li> <li>Flexible time off, sick days, and 13 paid holidays</li> <li>Comprehensive medical insurance including Health, Dental and Vision</li> <li>Paid parental leave (plus fertility, adoption and other family planning benefits)</li> <li>In-office workspace (San Francisco)</li> <li>Monthly allowance for wellness, reading and access to LinkedIn Learning for continued development</li> <li>Events and activities both team-based and company wide that inspire, educate and cultivate</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Pantheon is an equal opportunity employer and we welcome applications from all backgrounds regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, disability, or any other classification protected by law. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
